The Southeast Asian Geography Association (SEAGA) celebrates its 16th year in 2006 by inviting educators and
educationists in our schools and colleges to a colloquium to discuss Sustainability and Southeast Asia.
This one-day colloquium will consider the following dimensions and perspectives of sustainability.
Focus is on assessing the progress which has been made in realising the goals of sustainable development.
Theme of the Colloquium
The discussion is aimed at engaging our educators and teachers with the meanings and issues involved in
translating sustainability into everyday practices as well as wider societal initiatives. Speakers at the colloquium
will be well-known and established local, regional and international scholars who are working on geography,
environmental education and related fields.

Call for Papers
The call for papers has ended as of 15 August 2006. We will not be accepting any more papers.
Registration
There is an early bird discount for participants who register before 31 Jan 2006. The registration
package includes the colloquium proceedings, lunch, tea and coffee break as well as a book publication
on Global Forces and Global Change,

The registration includes two tea breaks, lunch, colloquium kit including a
book, `Geographies of a Changing World: Global Issues of the Early
21st Century’.
An administrative
charge of SGD$50 will be charged for cancellation/ withdrawal of
registration before October 2006.
No cancellations/ withdrawals are possible after 1st October 2006.

Who Should Attend
Teachers and educators in schools and colleges who are either teaching or concerned with sustainability studies -
geography, social studies, history, science, philosophy, development and cultural studies - would benefit from the
presentations as well as the rest of colloquium proceedings.
